PRINCESS WHATSHERNAME DOES COSTUMEWHATSITCALLED PHOTOS

Artist TenshinoSekai must really love Earthworm Jim.  She made this awesome costume of Princess Whatshername from Earthworm Jim to cosplay.  She even made a Jim and gun prop to pose with in her photos.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OTLGAMING’S OWN, JOSH!
Today is a special day for OTLGaming as we celebrate a joyous event for half of the site’s creative department: Josh McKinney’s BIRTHDAY!!!
I met Josh about seven years ago when we both were working the retail rat race.  We had an obsessive love for video games, both grew up in Texas and had moved 2000+ miles away to Oregon and both wanted to pursue writing in some form.  Flash forward all these years later and here we are sharing our passion for video games and it’s culture and doing what we dreamed about for years.
I’m damn glad to have met you and lucky to work with you!  Happy Birthday to my best friend!

ART FROM 1983 Q*BERT BOOK

Early in the 80’s Parker Brothers published a series of books (3 in total) on arcade hero Q*BERT and I’ve been lucky enough to find two of them recently this year.  Here’s some photos of the art from the latest book I found Q*BERT’S Quazy Questions which is a children’s riddle book.

EARLY LOOK AT DRAGON’S DOGMA STRATEGY GUIDE

Capcom’s epic fantasy adventure game Dragon’s Dogma isn’t out until next week on Tuesday but yours truly found a copy of the strategy guide out in the wild today.

I wanted to share some of the art I found within the guide as well as a few details on the game itself.  There is extensive content on items, weapons, armor, equipment and more so fans should have plenty to keep busy with outside of hacking and slashing monsters and beasts.

The vocations for character creation are pretty wide spread as well.  When players first start the game there are three vocational choices to choose from: Fighter, Strider or Mage.

Later as you level up your character you have an opportunity to broaden you abilities and change vocations with advanced onces: Warrior, Ranger and Sorcerer.  There are also three hybrid vocations to choose from as well: Mystic Knight, Assassin and Magick Archer.

It’s looking like there is a ton of fun to be had in Dragon’s Dogma and I can’t wait to get my hands on it next week and start adventuring across the land of Gransys.

MAX PAYNE 3: SPECIAL EDITION UNBOXING

Today we give you a look into the highly anticipated action noir thriller Max Payne 3: Special Edition from Rockstar Games.

Included in this bundle:
- A copy of the game (2 discs)
- A set of four still life art prints of Max’s vices and addictions
- A 10 inch statue of Max Payne
- A bullet keychain
- DLC content for multiplayer (weapons and characters)
- A copy of the Official Max Payne 3 soundtrack

The statue is really detailed from the scruff on Max’s face to the wooden floor riddled with bullet casings.  The bullet keychain is nice as well with the etched game title and Rockstar Games logo on the other side.

It also unscrews open but I have no idea what you’d put inside.  The real prize in this bundle is the four still life art prints.  They’re high quality prints on thick card stock and look absolutely gorgeous.

A lot of companies have been stepping it up with the art included with special editions of game and with guidebooks as well.  This is one of the few times I’d spring the extra dough to go get frames to put these on my walls.

Max Payne 3: Special Edition is available right now from local retailers as well as online. (MSRP $99.99)

GET INFECTED BY THIS UNBOXING OF PROTOTYPE 2

Today we have a look into Activision’s Prototype 2: Blackwatch Collector’s Edition.  This collector’s edition contains: a copy of the game (with special shiny cardboard slipcover art on the front and back), a cd copy of the game’s soundtrack, vouchers for DLC and coupons for Prototype branded merchandise.

There’s also a hard back art book, a digital copy of the Dark Horse comic “The Labyrinth” and it all comes in a special molded plastic case made to look like a classified military case.

The real prize in this collector’s edition is the special Radnet Edition content which early purchasers will get (it comes with regular edition purchases as well).  This gives early adopters access to exclusive in-game events, challenges and content found nowhere else.

Prototype 2 is currently available for sale at local retailers and online (MSRP regular edition: $59.99, Blackwater Collector’s Edition: $79.99)

This beautiful laser cut wooden sword comes from the creative hands and mind of artist Trevor Basset.  He made two of these for the Triforce Tribute Art Show at Land Gallery and I am the proud owner of this one.  Every day will now be an adventure thanks to Trevor!
