MICROSOFT’S BLACK FRIDAY SALE STARTS TODAY
Microsoft is running a few different sales for Xbox 360 users to kickoff the holiday shopping season. There’s a nearly week long sale that goes from today until December 2, a Black Friday sale, and a Cyber Monday sale.
Since game pricing varies for the different territories, the chart above only shows the % off. From the looks of it, there are some impressive deals on some really great games.
You’ll notice that a few games from our Holiday Gift Guide will be/are on sale, as well as fan favorites like Dark Souls, Rayman Origins, and Metro Last Light.

XBOX ONE KINECT COMMANDS
If you just got a new Xbox One you may have noticed that the voice commands for the new Kinect are different than previous generations and frankly, there’s a lot of them to remember. Thankfully, Xbox has published a complete list of all the Xbox One commands that should make life easier.
*Please note that currently, the Kinect can only recognize commands given in English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian. This will change as the Xbox One launches in other territories.

DON’T TRY DOWNLOADING THE XBOX ONE DAY-ONE PATCH
Leading into the PlayStation 4’s launch, Sony allowed gamers to download the day-one patch so they didn’t have to wait as their console tried to download the patch along with the million other people who were doing the same. They were able to just plug in the USB and update their console (so long as it wasn’t DOA, of course).
It appeared Microsoft was allowing users to do the same thing (called Emergency Offline Update) but now the page detailing the process has been removed and Microsoft has issued a statement saying that “customers still need to connect to Xbox Live for the update.”
Now before you start throwing around the WTFs, understand that Microsoft estimates the patch will only take 15 - 20 minutes to download and “Because of the complexity of this customer support process we’ve actually removed the page and we will work with customers directly to make sure they have a smooth experience.”
So if you’re someone who can’t connect the console to download the patch on launch day or if you have problems, you simply need to call Microsoft and they can then walk you through the process. Which, in the grand scheme of things is probably smarter than having a bunch of people who aren’t tech savy bricking their $500 pieces of hardware.

Microsoft has announced that the ability to stream live Xbox One gameplay through gaming-focused site Twitch.tv will not be available until early 2014.
"We know the ability to instantly broadcast gameplay is something the gaming community is excited about, and we are too," the company said in a blog post this morning. "We are working to ensure the initial Twitch on Xbox One broadcasting experience meets the expectations of the Twitch community, so while this feature won’t be available right away, we’ll let you know as soon as it is ready. Our goal is to deliver it during the first part of 2014."
