GAMING ART BOOKS
One of my favorite things to spring out of new game releases are the art books. I’ve always collected them from special editions of games but in recent years a lot of developers have started publishing large standalone art books that are amazing.
Here’s a small selection of books I’ve gotten so far this year as well as the art books for games that haven’t released yet that are available for pre-order.
- The Art of Bioshock Infinite - $26.78
- Tomb Raider: The Art of Survival - $30.94
- The Art of Dead Space - $25.69
- The Art of The Last of Us - $27.92 (pre-order)
- The Art of Remember Me - $26.41 (pre-order)
- Dark Souls: Design Works - $29.20 (pre-order)
- The Sky: The Art of Final Fantasy Slipcase Edition - $59.20 (pre-order)

BIOSHOCK INFINITE RINGTONES NOW AVAILABLE
Irrational Games has announced the ringtones of recognizable sounds from Bioshock Infinite are now available to download for your mobile device.
These ringtones perfectly display the impact that sound can have within a game. Each file takes you right back to the appropriate moment within game—which makes the Songbird ones even more unsettling!
Irrational Games is also mulling over releasing another batch of ringtones from the game so if you have a particular sound you want them to include in that batch, let them know.
The ringtones are:
- Songbird Tune
- Songbird Call
- Lovers Inflamed
- Value Appreciation
- Salt Machine Tone

BUSTED TEES NEWEST VIDEO GAME TEE DESIGNS
Two new designs based on video games have hit the virtual shelves over at Busted Tees. “Columbia” shows the majestic awe of that wonderful city in the skies from Bioshock Infinite while “Little Shop of Piranhas” provides a clever musical mashup with the Mushroom Kingdom.
I like the Infinite one for sure (it goes with my Fink, Mfg. one I already have) but I absolutely love the Mario design because it made me imagine actual parody songs to fit the made up musical. I immediately pictured Bowser in the Steve Martin role, singing the praises of being a bad guy in the song “Koopa!”
WOODEN GAMING SIGNS
Mike over at Crawdaddy Designs makes a bevy of gaming themed carved wooden signs for fans to display proudly in their homes. Designs cover newer titles like Bioshock Infinite to classic retro titles like Castlevania and even indie games like Super Meat Boy.
Signs range in price from $10-$60 based on design and size. He also offers a variety of designs for other genres like Star Wars, Doctor Who, My Little Pony and more.
I wish they had provided more examples of finished products in their store but at least the mock ups provide a general idea of what a customer should expect. If you dig these wooden gaming designs, be sure to check out these wooden carving boards, wooden key chains and this series of 8bit wooden creations.

BIOSHOCK INFINITE NOUVEAU
Artist Bill Mudron just finished this amazing art work (in a similar style to that of Alphonse Mucha) depicting various moments from Irrational Games’ Bioshock Infinite. It’s currently being offered as a 12 x 22 print (on matte stock) for $25 on Big Cartel.
For those local Pacific Northwestern fans, if you happen to be attending this week’s upcoming Stumptown Comics Fest in Portland, OR; Bill will be there in person selling prints of this and other great art prints. I love nouveau art prints (like Mikey Mann’s Majora’s Mask one!) and this Bioshock Infinite one is now on my must have list.
