HELPING ONE OF OUR OWN …
One of the best things about running this blog is we meet a lot of fantastic people from various backgrounds and walks of life. Sometimes they’re fellow gamers, other times they are artists or developers and we are able to share their work and stories with everyone on the site.
Those stories could be comical or inspiring or they could be sad and heartbreaking. Today, I share with you a story of courage in the hopes that we can rally together and make a difference in a person’s life.
November of last year we got word that David Vigil of That Vigilante was diagnosed with stage III stomach cancer and that he needed donations so he could afford to get treatment.
After getting the necessary donations, he was able to get treatment and he received a clean bill of health. It was exciting for him because he was able to continue creating and designing the things he loved and was able to move from Washington to California as well.
Around September this year though, David discovered that his cancer had spread to his pancreas and he now has stage II pancreatic cancer.
Once again David is asking for everyone’s help with donations so that he can get the treatment needed to get well. If you who have ever known someone with cancer or experienced it yourself then you understand the seriousness of this condition and why we are helping spread his message.
We are asking everyone here to share encouragement with David on Twitter or Facebook or, if you’re able, donate to his cause. Right now he needs the well wishes and positive vibes more than anything so that he can overcome this cancer and get back to creating more dynamic products like you see here.
