OUYA COMING TO RETAILERS THIS JUNE
UPDATE: According to a Wall Street Journal interview posted today with Ouya’s CEO Julie Uhrman, March is the month Kickstarter backers should see their consoles shipped. April will see post-Kickstarter purchasers getting theirs and June for the official Ouya launch.
If you missed the Kickstarter and you’ve been less reluctant to buy one direct (or didn’t know that it was an option) from Ouya’s own store, they have announced a few brick and mortar stores that are helping to bring Ouya to retail customers.
Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop and Target will be getting Ouya consoles bundles (w/ one controller) for retail sales as well as extra controllers this June. Fans who backed the Kickstarter will still receive their consoles and controllers before the retail window so hopefully they’ll get them sometime in May but a firm release date has yet to be announced.
You can already pre-order your Ouya Console (w/one controller) for $99.99 from Amazon right now. You can also pre-order an extra controller for $49.99 as well.
